First introduced in 2017, reference 5320 is truly an amalgamation of what Patek Philippe does best. Akin to a 'greatest hits' album from a band, the Geneva maison selected some of their best known or most distinctive elements when designing their brand new perpetual calendar, itself a staple of Patek Philippe.
The dial and case tastefully channel 40s and 50s Patek Philippe. The dial layout is very reminiscent of famed references, with elements taken from both the 2438 and 3450. According to Patek Philippe, the beautiful luminous syringe hands were inspired by ones fitted to luminous 1463s. Finally, the stepped and angular case is very much 3449 and 2438 flavoured.
On top of these classic details, the present watch features a gorgeous salmon coloured dial, a perfect match for a watch filled with brand heritage. All in all, reference 5320 combines one of Patek Philippe’s signature complications with a historically significant and ever relevant dial colour, within a design that calls back to some of the brand’s most coveted vintage references.
