The Sea-Dweller has been Rolex’s renowned diving watch since its release in 1967 to meet the challenging conditions of deep-sea exploration. In particular the Sea-Dweller 4000, released circa 2014, still stands as a highly collectible timepiece though now discontinued by Rolex.
The present Sea-Dweller 4000 features a Cerachrom ceramic bezel with minute markings all around. Furthermore, the black “Maxi Dial” features a date display at three o’clock, and more notably the larger lume hands and hour markers which enhance the watch’s modern appearance and glow blue in the dark, suiting the watch’s maritime background. The watch is automatic and holds a 48-hour power reserve, and the stainless steel case measures 40mm in diameter.
