The Portuguese collection was introduced in 1939 to meet the needs of Portuguese explorers, and the present example is part of a limited edition celebrating IWC's 125th anniversary. The calibre 9828 is based off the legendary pocket watch movement from the 1930s. It attracts collectors for its classic look and simple design.
Out of the collection's production, 1000 were stainless steel, another 500 in pink gold and 250 were in platinum.
