The collaboration between Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co. is one of the longest-standing partnerships in watchmaking, spanning nearly 170 years. This relationship began when Tiffany became Patek Philippe's exclusive agent in North America, granting the retailer access to fine Swiss timepieces while introducing Patek to a growing American market.
To commemorate their 150-year partnership in 2001, Patek Philippe released the Reference 5150, also known as the T150. This limited-edition annual calendar wristwatch with a moon phase complication was produced in 150 examples each in yellow, white, and pink gold. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s past and future, the model features a 36mm officer-style case, reminiscent of the Reference 3960J created for Patek’s 150th anniversary in 1989, but with a more modern and bold design. The hinged caseback is engraved with both brands’ names and an image of Patek Philippe’s headquarters.
The watch is powered by the caliber 315 S-QA, Patek Philippe’s first annual calendar movement, enhanced for the T150 with a moon phase complication. The distinctive dial design includes a unique calendar layout with day, date, and month displayed via apertures, complemented by flat numerals and hands. An oversized "T" at 12 o'clock adds a special touch, symbolizing Tiffany & Co. The design reflects the personal involvement of Patek's leaders, Philippe and Thierry Stern, highlighting the significance of the collaboration.
The current lot is presented in ‘Service Sealed’ condition and is accompanied by its Patek Philippe presentation box, Tiffany & Co. T150 commemorative outer packaging, Tiffany & Co. box, Patek Philippe leather traveling case, product literature book with a commemorative silver coin, Certificate of Origin (undated), Tiffany & Co. valuation report dated June 17, 2002, confirming the date of sale as June 11, 2002, setting pin, and hangtags.
