Description
Château Ausone 2013
St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)
Excellent level and appearance, plain wax capsule, tissue wrapped
Only 9000 bottles made from a yield of 22hl/hectare. 55% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot. The harvest did not take long here, with the Merlot picked on 2 and 3 October and the Cabernet Franc on 5 and 6 October. 85% new wood. Spicy nose with real depth, helped by the 50 year average age of the vines and the micro-climate at Ausone. The Cabernet Franc has good structure, contributing to the volume and finish. The natural glycerol caresses the palate. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
1 imperial - 6 litres (owc)
