Description

Château Léoville Barton 1996

St. Julien, 2ème Cru Classé

Excellent levels and labels, 1 capsule slightly wrinkled at base, repacked from owc

At 20 years old, a real 'thick' nose that indicates tannin - one sees the relationship with the 1986. Plummy, spicy, firm and very 'black' on the palate. A touch of inkiness. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes out very strongly. Huge structure and packed power. For the long term. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

WA 92

12 bts (cn)

Provenance:

Removed from a naturally cool cellar of a charming country house in England, this small but well-curated collection is a fantastic find for anyone buying wine for enjoyment. 2000 Latour and Haut-Brion are the undisputed highlights, with the overperforming Second Growths from the 1990s and 2000 complementing the assortment.
