Description

Musigny, Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 1995

Comte Georges de Vogüé

Côte de Nuits, Grand Cru

1 label slightly nicked at bottom edge, slightly scuffed capsules, 2 slightly sunken corks, ex-Aulden Cellar with Sotheby's

This is tremendous wine, showing the full talents of the viticultural and winemaking teams at the domain. Now just coming into its full beauty, the extraordinary health and opulence are very much in evidence. There is depth and power as well as the inimitable elegance of the cru, all backed up by spicy tannins. An extremely covetable wine. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

Provenance

A small part of a much larger collection, this has been assembled meticulously for over 20 years. Many were purchased from Sotheby’s, including single-owner sales such as “Direct from the Cellars of Paul Jaboulet Aine” in 2012; “Wines from the Cellar of The Fux Restaurant” in 2017 and “The Tran-scend-ent Sale” in 2019. Others were mainly purchased on release from reputable UK wine merchants. All wines were professionally stored in a professional temperature-controlled cellar before the sale.
