"Distilled in 1962, the same year the Young Presidents' Organization Japan Chapter was founded, this original whiskey is a special blend featuring malt matured for half a century. The Japanese oak barrels used for maturing impart distinctive accents of aromatic wood and incense in an overall firm, well-rounded fragrance. The initial impress-ion soon turns to sweet-and-sour-fruity notes, suggesting ripe persimmon, banana, and orange, balanced by sweet aromas reminiscent of honey and custard cream. The taste combines a soft and expansive sweetness and Asian spice, with a finish that subtly evokes fragrant incense amid pleasurably lingering hints of aromatic weed.
