The present watch is reference 116509 which houses the calibre 4130. This caliber is a very important movement for Rolex as it is the brand's first in-house chronograph movement.

Though the Daytona has been in production with stainless steel and yellow gold since the early 1960s, it wasn't until the late 1990s a white gold variation was introduced, and the 116509 was the first white gold Daytona on matching bracelet.

This example features the famous racing dial, characterized by its concentric Arabic numerals and a sport allure highlighted by the red hands for the chronograph and constant seconds.

The 116509 was discontinued and replaced by the 126529 in 2023, making it highly popular among discerning collectors.
