The present lot features the distinctive bridge and train structure designed and made by Albert H. Potter (1836-1908). Potter, born in New York, practiced watchmaking in Albany and New York City, before relocating to Cuba. In 1875, Potter, who had returned to the United States in 1866, moved to Geneva where he established his workshop. He produced approximately 600 watches while working in Switzerland.
