On the occasion of the Olympics Game in Tokyo and as a official timekeeper of the event, Omega released the Speedmaster Tokyo 2020 Olympics Collection.
It comprised five watches inspired by the five rings of the Olympic flag.
The pieces have the signature 42mm diameter case with the tachymeter bezel, the three-link bracelet and naturally the chronograph powered by the Calibre 1861 with the three subsidiary dials. The caseback however differs from the regular production as it is solid with the logo of Tokyo 2020.
These watches were primarily offered in Japan and were therefore very difficult to source in Europe.
This present version represents the black ring of the Olympic flag. To differentiate it from the standard Speedmaster, Omega opted for a Panda livery, a design particularly pleasant and sought after by collectors. It is also different from the Apollo11 35th Anniversary with the Speedmaster logo in red as well as the end of the chronograph hand.
This example is preserved in most attractive condition and comes complete with its accessories.
