The collection "Les Historiques" from Vacheron Constantin was introduced in the late 1980's to pay tribute to some of the most fascinating past creations of the Manufacture.
Vacheron Constantin re-introduced wonderful pieces such as chronograph, time only and special shaped watches as well as this triple calendar, the reference 47051.
Its design is beautifully understated with a yellow gold stepped bezel case, signature shaped-lugs and semi-integrated crown. It houses the slim automatic Calibre 1126, which is based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre 889 and was used for the finest pieces made by Vacheron at the time, such as the Métiers d'Arts Tribute to the Great Explorers.
The dial of this Reference 47051 has a clean appearance with Roman numerals matching the case, outer date indication pointed by moon hand reminiscent of the 1950's and two perfectly integrated apertures in the center for the day and month.
Combining the classical design and the reliability of a modern timepiece, this lot is a perfect choice for a collector looking for an elegant neo-vintage creation.
