The Rolex 116718LN was introduced in 2005 and was the very first Rolex model featuring a ceramic bezel, making it a landmark on the history of the brand and a highly collectible piece.
Rolex developed the ceramic bezel to dramatically improve the durability of the part, compared to the older aluminium inserts.
The model was available either with a standard black dial or with a special green one to mark the 50th anniversary of the GMT at Rolex.
These last pieces have seen a particularly high interest from collectors who have understood the importance of that model combined with the anniversary green dial. As a result, these pieces appear less and less on the market, making this lot a rare opportunity.
Furthermore, its robust yellow gold case with matching bracelet makes it a perfect wrist companion.
Consigned by its original owner, a distinguished European gentleman, this timepiece would be a stunning and meaningful addition to any collection.
