The Day-date stands as one of the Rolex most luxurious wristwatches.

The iconic model was originally released in 1956 as the first waterproof and chronometer-certified automatic wristwatch to display the date at 3 o’clock and the day of the week in full letters at 12 o'clock. Considered as an everyday dress watch and worn by the most influential men and women of the century, the Day-date was only available in precious metals, including yellow, rose and white gold as well as platinum.

In 2015, Rolex released a contemporary adaptation of the model, called Day Date 40, referring to its increased diameter. Rolex managed to preserve the distinguished design of the original version while creating a contemporary timepiece that would appeal to a new audience. The watch met an immediate success thanks to its new diameter as well as its stunning dials perfectly complementing the famous Oyster case and President bracelet.

Among the most sought-after versions, this livery, combining the white gold case and President bracelet with the olive green dial, is a collectors favourite and an extraordinarily attractive piece illustrating the very best of this production.
