Description
Klimt, Gustav
Eine Nachlese. Herausgegeben von Max Eisler. Wien, Österreichische Staatsdruckerei 1931
Large folio (470 x 470 mm). 30 collotype plates, including 15 in vibrant color, with plates in fine, unspotted and unfaded condition. Deluxe publisher's binding of gilt leather, with the artist name stamped in red on upper cover, spine in red leather; spine a touch faded and the gilt over leather covers have rubbing along bottom edge, a few handling abrasions, a few areas of oxidation to gilt, silk pastedowns lifting somewhat. Original gilt-stamped card slipcase; rubbed.
Number VI of 30 copies in a magnificent gilt binding.
From a total edition of 500 numbered copies, with 200 in German, those numbered I-XXX in deluxe gold binding (as the present copy), and the remaining German edition numbered 31-200. The English and French editions were of 150 copies each in the standard binding.
A lovely and decidedly uncommon edition, often broken up given the striking quality of the color plates.
