Henry William Paget, later, 1st Marquess of Anglesey (1768–1854), styled Lord Paget between 1784 and 1812. Possibly presented to Lord Paget to commemorate his promotion to lieutenant-general in April 1808.

Initially working in Greek Street, Soho, Louis Recordon (active 1778-1824) succeeded to Josiah Emery's establishment in 1797 at 33 Cockspur Street, Charing Cross. A recognised watchmaker, Recrdon also acted as Bregeut's agent in London.

The present lot presents London hallmarks for the year 1807.
