Campana form, the bases with bands of acanthus leaf ornament, the bodies with pendant grapes and two handles with satyr mask brackets below bands of fruiting vine ornament, with removable liners and collars, all pieces engraved with a crest and motto.

John Houle was apprenticed to Paul Storr in 1798 and entered his first mark as a plateworker on 10 April 1811. He took seven apprentices, the last in 1826, including his two sons Daniel John and Charles who continued the business.
