the top with a pierced brass gallery to the sides and a later gilt-tooled brown leather top, each longer side with a kneehole below a frieze drawer, which opens to a leather-lined writing surface on one side only, and flanked by two sets of two short drawers, the shorter sides with flame mahogany panels, the drawers and panels bordered with ebony, the tapered reeded legs terminating in brass cappings and castors
