Rectangular, the lid chased with the cork arms within rococo scrolls, flowers and shells.

At least four further freedom boxes by Reynolds in this design are known, albeit with minor differences. One was sold by Sotheby's (Slane Castle, 25 June 1979, lot 293) still with its original freedom scroll, dated 1765.
