the seal face reads 'Renhe Zhang Kezhong zi ziwei chang shou yin xin', which can be translated as 'personal seal of longevity for Zhang Kezhong of Renhe, courtesy name Ziwei'. The side of the seal is inscribed 'Jihai xia ziwei sanshixiong shu ke zhuan', which can be translated as 'inscribed by Ziwei, the third brother, in the summer of the Jihai year' (1899)
