Compare two related examples with similar plate-shaped rim and bridge-shaped loops on the shoulder, illustrated in Su Shu, 'Nanjing chutu de liuchao hongzhou yao ciqi' [Hongzhou kiln wares of the Six Dynasties period unearthed in Nanjing], Dazhong Kaogu, Nanjing, 2020, pls 55 and 56Compare also a closely related example, in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in Qingfeng cuise. Yueyao texzhan / Special Exhibition of Early Chinese Greenware. The dating of this lot is consistent with the result of a thermoluminescence test, Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford, no. 766j90.
