The next installment of the magnificent Bibliotheca Brookeriana will encompass works on art and painting, architecture, numismatics, writing books, emblem books and festival books. These range from the first edition of Alciati’s influential emblems through the architecture of Palladio and Alberti to Leonardo’s treatise on painting. The elegant and historical bindings, including volumes bound for de Thou, Grolier and Fabri de Peiresc, represent the work of the finest binders in Europe from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
