binding: Contemporary polished Parisian calf, blind fillet around sides, frame formed by 3 blind fillets, gilt fleuron at outer angles, in centre gilt vertical sceptre with fleur-de-lis at top and crown at centre, flanked by 2 rampant lions, name scratched off upper and lower cover, spine with 5 full and 2 half bands, gilt flower and leaves in compartments, plain edges. (Rubbed and soiled.)
