Description

This binding was executed for Gian Federico Madruzzo (1531?-1586) and features his arms on the covers; for more information on his collection, see lot 1064. binding: Contemporary Paris armorial binding for G.F. Madruzzo, vellum richly gilt a à la fanfare with Madruzzo's arms in centre, flat spine, 2-line horizontal title near head, and decoration carried over from covers, plain edges gilt.
