尼泊爾 十九世紀 銅鎏金嵌寶及琥珀寶生佛坐像

The figure of Buddha with a framework of gilded copper cloisons inset with amber sections for the body and robe, dark blue paste for the hair curls and the robe edges, white shell for the eyes, and carved shell and polychrome paste for the lotus petal base and arch (prabha). Ratnasambhava’s iconographic colour is yellow, hence the choice of amber for this rare Nepalese sculpture. Inset stonework sculpture, furniture, ritual objects and plaques became increasingly popular in Nepal in the nineteenth century.
