尼泊爾 十九世紀 銀鎏金嵌寶帶扣 及 玉雕璧
This statue adornment is encrusted with semi-precious stones and shell on fields of filigree with a Chinese bi disc in the central panel, attached to hinged flanges either side, each with a ‘Face of Glory’ (kirtimukha), and with applied silver ribs on the back for a securing band. Compare a similar adornment in three hinged sections, possibly from the same Newar workshop, acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1915, see Kurt Behrendt, Mandalas: Mapping the Buddhist Art of Tibet, New York, 2024, cat. no. 24.
