Vishnu stands upright on a single lotus base with foliate tendrils, his four arms holding his customary attributes of a wheel, mace, a seed and a conch shell. He wears regal jewellery, a sacred cord (yajnopavita) over the left shoulder, and a dhoti and sash with hanging folds of cloth at either side. Compare a fourteenth century Nepalese gilt copper Vishnu in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, with similar foliage emerging from the base and joining the scarf ends at either side of the figure, affording support to the statue, see Pratapaditya Pal, Art of Nepal, Los Angeles, 1985, p. 110, cat. S31.
