The helmet signed Myochin Kaga Daijo Munesada

The mempo signed with gold tab Yoshimichi

Momoyama – Edo period, late 16th – early 17th century


the fine one hundred and twenty plate russet iron bowl terminating in a seven-stage copper-gilt tehen kanamono, the peak and turnbacks applied with stenciled Dutch leather, the peak with chrysanthemum form rivets, gilded leather underside, copper-gilt fukurin and fittings, black lacquer four-tiered rounded solid plate neck guard (manju-jikoro) with spaced lacing in dark blue silk braid, the russet iron ryubu-mempo with detachable nose plate, standing flanges (yadome) to the cheeks, red lacquer interior, black lacquered two-tiered solid plate throat protector with spaced lacing in dark blue braid
