Crescent-shaped with engraved borders, engraved CHAMPAGNE, HOCK, CLARET, PORT and BURGUNDY within a bright-cut border, contained in a fitted case.

The Daniel Fitch Claret and Port labels in the current lot are illustrated in Wine Labels 1730-2003 A Worldwide History, 2004, p.289. The author mentions that they were from a set of six.

Fitch's mark has been seen on a set of five further gold wine labels (London, 1794), see Christie's, London, 23 April 2024, lot 197.
