rectangular, the dark blue enamel ground later applied with diamond-set lettering reading 'Belle', framed by a taille d'épargne border of tulips and plumes on cornflower blue opaque enamel, the base similarly decorated, the later sides centred with dark blue enamel navette-shaped ornaments, the interior later fitted with a musical movement and a pierced rose gold grille engraved with a trophy of love within roundels of vine leaves, maker's mark SD in a horizontal lozenge, unofficial PC3 18ct standard mark, later control marks,

Although not yet recorded as such, it is possible that the maker's mark SD in a horizontal lozenge found on the present lot is a variation indicating the successful Genevois partnership of Sené & Detalla.
