Alan and Simone Hartman Collection, sold

Christie's, New York, 20 October 1999, lot 191,

Later re-acquired by the Hartmans.

The arms are those of Wilson with Wilson in pretence, for Mathew Wilson (1772-1854) and his wife (and first cousin) Margaret Clive Wilson (1764-1848), whom he married in 1800. She was the only daughter and heiress of Mathew Wilson (1730-1802) of Eshton Hall, and his wife Francis, a sister of Clive of India.
