in the shape of a lyre, the lid enameled en plein with a young lady in profile with blond curls, wearing a red dress, holding her spaniel with curly brown ears on one arm and the collar and lead in the other hand, against an unusual dark blue enamel ground, within a taille d'épargne leaf and acanthus border terminating in leafy volutes, the smaller compartment decorated with an enamel roundel of a musical trophy on an opaque white ground, flanked by two white coiled taille d'épargne bands, the base enameled to resemble a harp with six gold engraved strings along the center, faint maker's mark S&D incuse, Vienna control mark, in fitted modern leather case,
