The arms and crest are those of Drury-Lowe impaling Steer for William Drury-Lowe of Locko Park, co. Derby (d. 1827). A London merchant, he assumed the additional name and arms of Lowe in 1790 upon taking possession of Locko Park and its estates, inherited from his relative, Richard Lowe (1716-1785), a wealthy woollen draper and banker. He had married Anne Steer (1744-1848) of Burton Latimer, co. Northampton.
The same armorials are engraved on the Drury-Lowe tureen by Paul de Lamerie, London, 1736, from the Jaime Ortiz-Patino Collection of Paul de Lamerie Silver at Sotheby's London on 4th June, 1998, lot 223. Further details about William Drury-Lowe appear in that catalogue.
