Ever since Stephen Curry emerged on the scene as a point guard at Davidson College, he has dazzled basketball fans with his elite shooting ability and creative playmaking skills. Drafted 7th overall by the Golden State Warriors in 2009, Curry wasted little time demonstrating that his game would translate to the professional ranks. After the 2009-10 season, Curry was named to the NBA All-Rookie 1st Team, a sign of big things to come.

Within five years, the Warriors developed into the league’s newest juggernaut. With Curry and fellow sharpshooter Klay Thompson at the forefront, the Warriors’ style encompassed constant player and ball movement along with unprecedented three-point marksmanship. In 2015, Curry led the Warriors to the franchise’s first NBA championship since 1975. After another NBA Finals appearance the following year, the Warriors received a significant boost in the form of free agent superstar Kevin Durant. Curry and Durant helped the Warriors win back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018. By this point a two-time league MVP and three-time NBA champion, Curry was the face of the arguably the league’s greatest dynasty since the 1990s Chicago Bulls.

This jersey has been photomatched by Resolution Photomatching to April 29, 2021. On that date, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Golden State Warriors 126-114 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Despite the loss, Curry had a strong game with 37 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. A photomatch letter and graphics accompany the jersey.

A certificate from James Spence Authentication regarding Curry’s signature is also included.

Going Deeper | Stephen Curry

Though the Warriors made their fifth consecutive NBA Finals appearance in 2019, Durant went down with an achilles injury in Game 5 and Thompson suffered a torn ACL in Game 6. The Warriors lost the series to the Toronto Raptors and suddenly the team’s future looked bleak.

With Durant departing for the Brooklyn Nets in the summer and Thompson still recovering from his injury, the 2019-20 season brought all eyes back onto Curry. But this proved anticlimactic as Curry too caught the injury bug and suffered a broken hand in October. Curry missed most of the season and the Warriors finished dead last in the NBA with a 15-50 record.

When Curry returned to the court the following season, many wondered if the Warriors could achieve the level of success of years prior. With no more Durant and Thompson now sidelined with a torn achilles, Curry faced the daunting task of carrying the Warriors without his superstar teammates. Some critics felt an aging Curry might have lost a step and would not return to his pre-injury form. But he proved all his doubters wrong.

In the 2020-21 season, Curry won his second career scoring title (32.0 points per game) and almost single handedly led the Warriors to a 39-33 record and an appearance in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament. A year later, aided by the return of Thompson and the emergence of Andrew Wiggins, Curry and the Warriors once again reached the mountaintop and claimed their fourth NBA title since 2015. In addition, Curry passed Ray Allen for the number one spot on the all-time leaderboard for made three pointers, solidifying his status as perhaps the greatest shooter of all time.
