Sapphire, diamond and gold bangle, 1890s
The bifurcated bangle decorated with two interlocking horseshoes set with cushion-shaped sapphires and circular-cut diamonds, enhanced with rose diamonds, inner circumference approximately 160mm, maker's mark.

This bangle was given by Robert I, Duke of Parma (1848-1907) to his daughter Princess Marie Louise of Bourbon-Parma, Princess Consort of Bulgaria (1870-1899). Later it was inherited by her daughter Princess Eudoxia of Bulgaria (1898-1985).
