A monumental Italian cast bronze urn, circa 1805, possibly by Francesco Righetti
the detachable fluted lid surmounted by a foliate finial, the body with two handles issuing from an upper frieze section depicting ram's heads, festoons and tools, the main section with two faces depicting rinceaux and griffins, on a fluted footed stem and a square base
115cm. high, 35.5cm. wide at base; 3ft. 9¼in., 1ft. 2in.
The collection of Sir Walter F. Becker (1855-1927), Villa Becker, Turin;
Inherited by his wife, Lady Delphine Becker, née de Martelly (1871-1943);
