-inch enamel dial with an unusual combination of Roman and Arabic numerals, inner date ring, signed Lépine, Hger Du Roi, Places Des Victoires No 12, and signed by the enameller Barbichon below VI, pierced and engraved trellis hands, the movement with silk suspension and beat adjustment on the crutch, star-cut outside count wheel striking on a bell, signed on the backplate Lépine, her Du Roy, A Paris, No 417, the drum surmounted by an eagle and flanked by adorsed seated classical male and female figures emblematic of study, the bow-ended breakfront plinth inset with gilt plaques and a foliate frieze,
