Kabuto [helmet]:
The lacquered thirty-two plate nerikawa bowl with raised ridges, terminating in a seven-stage copper and copper-gilt tehen kanamono floret, plain black lacquer peak and turnbacks with copper-gilt fukurin [ornamental border], three-tiered black lacquer itamono manju-jikoro [rounded solid plate neck guard] with close-spaced lacing in white braid, wild boar hair trimming, the gilt wood maedate [forecrest] in the form of a five-petalled nadeshiko [fringed pink], chased and engraved details
Mempo [face mask]:
The sabiji-nuri [simulated russet iron] lacquered iron ressei mempo [face mask with fierce expression] with flared nostrils, open mouth and deep wrinkles, detachable noseplate, yak bristle moustache, gold lacquer teeth, red lacquer interior, three-tiered yodaregake [throat protector] laced in matching braid and wild boar hair trimming
Do [cuirass]:
The sabiji-nuri cuirass hinged in five pieces, the central plate hammered with bonji [Sanskrit characters], stenciled doeskin edging, the muna-ita with close-spaced lacing in white braid, six tassets of four-tiered kusazuri [skirt], all components in matching braid
Sode, kote [shoulder guards and sleeves]:
Six-tiered black lacquer shoulder guards with close-spaced lacing in white braid, wild boar hair trimming, engraved copper-gilt fittings of typical chrysanthemum and foliat4 form, the iron splint sleeves with kuiai-gusari chainmail weave, blue silk lining
Haidate, sune-ate [thigh protectors and shin guards]:
Black lacquered kawara haidate ['roof tiled' thigh protectors] with blue silk lining decorated with gold brocade, the lacquered shin guards similarly lined
