An allegorical needlework panel, European, 18th century in 17th century style, signed K.F. 


Worked finely in polychrome silks in tent stitch, on linen canvas, with minor areas of metal-thread highlights, depicting a smiling female figure, wearing a stomached with metal-thread detailing, standing in a landscape including stylised branches, and an unrealistically sized bird and snail, a figure hiding behind a cloud and a figure morphing into the landscape below, possibly representing heaven and hell, the green background sprinkled with stylised yellow stars, and evenly spaced red speckles, possibly inspired by metal spangles, worked in red lettering, K.F, left of the lady's head, worked by an amateur and not professional workshop, fragment from larger panel, now in a carved gilt ebonised frame
