the circular box with flush-fitting cover, decorated in gold and black hiramaki-e, kirakane and kimpun on a sparse nashiji ground, with pine among rockwork and swirling waters beneath plovers (chidori) in flight, the interior of the cover with a sprig of pine, the interior of the base similarly decorated with further pine, rockwork and waters, nashiji interior, lead rims; with fitted wood storage box with attestation by Sokei
