Apollo 11 Command Module Pilot (CMP) Michael Collins flew the command module Columbia around the moon, which he orbited thirty times whilst Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made the first crewed landing on the surface. Prior to Apollo 11, Collins was instrumental to the development of the Apollo project as an astronaut on Gemini 10, a mission in which he had two EVAs.
