Comprising nine in shaped-circular form, with ribbon-tied reeded borders, and four in a very similar design, all engraved with a yje coat-of arms of the Count of Flandres,

7682gr., 247oz.

Phillipe, Count of Flanders (1837–1905);

Leopold III, king of the Belgians (1901–1983).

These plates were part of a large service commissioned by the Count of Flanders, presumably before his wedding with Princess Marie-Louise Hohenzollern-Sigmarigen in 1867. A large part of the service was sold Sotheby's Amsterdam, Princess Lilian of Belgium - Chateau d'Argenteuil, 22 September 2003 (lots 15-37)
