chased and engraved to illustrate the saint lying down within an interior, with the light of God beaming down over him from a cloud, the corners each set with three large cabochon amethysts and garnets, struck to the lower edge and in the field with maker's mark, 84 standard

27.5 by 18.5cm; 10⅞by 7¼in.

Dom Alexandre de Sousa e Holstein Beck, Visconde de Lançada (1934-2014);

Thence by descent to the present owner.
