Rush

2112. Anthem Records, 1978

Pictorial gatefold record sleeve (catalogue number ANR-1-1004), signed by Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart, with photographic portraits of the band on inside front cover and rear cover, and with sticker from James Spence Authentication on the lower right corner of the rear cover; slight loss at head and tail of spine, some light rubbing and edgewear, just a trace of ringwear.

A signed copy of the record sleeve for the 1978 re-issue of 2112. Their fourth studio album, 2112 was Rush’s breakthrough commercial success after their poorly received previous album, Caress of Steel. The record is divided between two conceptual sides: the A-side exclusively features the 20-minute science-fiction epic title track, inspired by “the genius of Ayn Rand,” according to Neil Peart; the B-side features five individual songs spanning a range of more lighthearted themes. The image on the sleeve is known as the “Man in the Star,” and was subsequently adopted as a logo by Rush fans.
