Description

Bob Dylan

The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. Columbia Records, 1963

LP in original picture sleeve (catalogue number CL 1986), with the rare alternate track listings on the front cover's timing strip and on the record's labels, here with Bob Dylan's manuscript emendations in blue ink on the labels, A-2 title printed as "Rocks and Gravel" and corrected in Dylan's hand to "Girl from the North Country," A-3 title printed as "Let Me Die In My Footsteps" and similarly corrected to "Masters of War," B-2 title printed as "Gamblin' Willie's Dead Man's Hand" and corrected to "Bob Dylan's Dream," B-5 title printed as "Talkin' John Birch Blues" and corrected to "Talkin World War III Blues," the record being a promo radio station copy, matrix numbers XLP-58717-3A and XLP-58718-2A, with "DEMONSTRATION | NOT FOR SALE" stamped on the rear cover, including the original dark blue and teal printed inner sleeve; some rubbing and edgewear with loss at the corners, just a few tiny closed tears and chips to the rear cover, some loss to the timing strip, a few minor instances of soiling and smudging, inner sleeve partially splitting along two edges.

A gift from the poet to the "fortune-teller of [his] soul," immortalized on this very cover.
