Gravelot was a prolific designer of book illustrations, and a very successful drawing teacher, especially during his stay in London, from 1732-45.  One of the artist's many stylistically comparable illustration designs is his study for a part of the cartouche of a map, in the British Museum (inv. 1889,0724.90).
