This is a preparatory study for the ceiling decoration in the Audience Chamber of the Palazzo Pitti, Florence that was painted by Agostino Mitelli and Angelo Michele Colonna between 1636-1641. A related group of drawings was sold in these rooms on 16th January 1985, lot 55.
