This painting follows a signed still-life by Georgius Jacobus Johannes van Os that recently appeared at auction at Van Ham in Cologne.1 The composition of these works seems to draw inspiration from a drawing by Jan van Huijsum today in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.2
