A Louis XVI alabaster, marble and gilt bronze aux cercles tournants portico mantel clock, late 18th century

 

the case topped by a gilt bronze putto seated on a globular vase, holding a pointer aimed at the two revolving horizontal enamel chapter rings for minutes and hours, the open-worked dome with a horizontal placed anchor movement with silk suspended pendulum and outer countwheel striking on a bell, the portico centered by an ormolu figure of Minerva
