Conceived in 1959 and cast by M.A.F. foundry, Milan.
The Fondazione Giacomo Manzù has kindly confirmed the authenticity of this work.
This lot is being offered for sale in situ from its current location in Minneapolis and is not at Sotheby’s New York location. The Buyer of the lot shall be responsible for relocating it from its current location, including obtaining the necessary insurance to do so and covering all associated costs and fees.
After Sotheby’s receipt of the full purchase price in cleared funds, the Buyer is obligated to arrange collection of the purchased lot, which collection must occur no later than 30 days after the sale unless otherwise agreed in writing between Sotheby’s and the Buyer. Risk of loss for any loss or damage and title to the lot shall transfer to the Buyer upon the Buyer’s collection of the lot. Prior to such time, in the event the Property incurs any loss or damage so that it is not in the substantially the same state in which it was on the day of the auction, Sotheby’s will refund the Buyer any amounts paid for the lot, unless otherwise agreed by the Buyer, the consignor and Sotheby’s.
If the Buyer fails to timely relocate the lot within 30 days of the auction other than for reasons beyond the Buyer’s control, Sotheby’s may rescind the sale subject to a fee of 20% of the Hammer Price charged to Buyer by Sotheby’s and the consignor.
